‘Water is Life’, the short cross-stitched poem I created for my article on the Injustice Boycott for One Quart Magazine, will be part of an exhibition, Crafting Resistance, at the Visual Arts Center at Boise State University. I want to acknowledge my OQM editor Astrid Swan, whose feedback shaped the poem: thank you always, Astrid. Having looked up each of the artists, I am truly humbled to be part of the exhibition; thank you curator Kirsten Furlong. The exhibition details are:

Crafting Resistance
The Visual Arts Center gallery at Boise State University has organized the exhibition Crafting Resistance featuring the work of twenty artists from around the United States as well as Canada and Mexico whose work creates awareness of political issues, examines issues of racial and social justice, or calls for change in environmental issues and human and equal rights.  Each of the artists works in a unique and powerful voice utilizing the medias of ceramics, metal, wood, found materials, printmaking, or fiber art. The exhibition is scheduled for an opening reception on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 5-8pm and continues through March 28th, 2017 at Visual Arts Center, Gallery One located in the Liberal Arts Building room 170 on the Boise State University campus.  The exhibition was curated by Visual Arts Center gallery director Kirsten Furlong.
